Launch an exciting career as a Department of the Air Force civilian attorney. Join hundreds of civilian legal professionals worldwide in supporting Air Force and Space Force missions. As an attorney, you will advise Air Force and Space Force commands and represent the Department of the Air Force in matters related to labor and employment, contracts, environmental, administrative law, and other areas that impact operations. Attorneys also provide legal assistance to eligible service members and their families in family law, consumer law, and estate planning. We are seeking recent law school graduates with high potential and a desire to serve their country. PAQs will receive initial training in multiple practice areas. After successful completion of the program, PAQs will be placed into a permanent position with the Department of the Air Force. This program offers PAQs an opportunity to work on meaningful legal issues from day one, explore the practice of law in different fields, and collaborate with other dedicated military and civilian attorneys around the world.

Attorney or Law Clerks
PAQ QUALIFICATIONS
U.S. citizenship
Recent graduate (within two years of completing degree or within six years if a Veteran) of a law school accredited by the American Bar Association
Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required
GPA 2.95 or above
For Attorney positions: Active member in good standing of a State Bar, eligible to practice law before the highest court of a state, the District of Columbia, or a territory or possession of the United States
Attorney: one-year professional legal experience, LLM or superior law student work or activity, e.g., top third of class, law review or journal, academic achievement (moot court win or membership on team that represents the law school in competitions), full-time or continuous participation in legal aid program, significant law office clerk experience, or other accomplishments
Law Clerks [required to become licensed (pass the bar exam) within 14 months from their EOD and then be reassigned as attorneys during the PAQ program
Ability to obtain Security Clearance funded by Department of Air Force (e.g., Background check)
